The Journals Part Two - I wander aimlessly from group to group, but I don't
usually know more than three people well in any of the many groups that
I mosey on into from time to time. Journal #2. -What is poetry? Poetry is expressing oneself in words and phrases, while
applying the basic rules of poetry. I experience poetry every day, in
the form of the music, lyrics, poems, and the way that certain people
talk. Every song ever written is a form of poetry, and I download a lot
of songs on my computer that I listen to extensively. The comedian George
Carlin uses words very poetically to form comedic opinions. I like poetry
a lot, not just in the raw poem - Shakespeare - , but also in songs and
lyrics, music - J.S. Bach - and people talking - George Carlin. I like
poetry because it is something to live for, and I love to live, knowing
that I can listen to poetry in all shapes and forms. Journal #3 - What is your favorite poem or song? My favorite poem is The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. This
happens to be my favorite poem because I like it's darkness, the way it
has a certain persisting rhythm, the way the words seem to rhyme just
right. "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Journal #4 - Prewrite your narrative poem in paragraph form. Poem must tell a story, but must rhyme. Minimum 12 lines. Closely watched the children were, Journal #5 - Describe a memorable teacher. - acts My eighth grade teacher for Social Science, Jed Rucker,
was really tall and had a big long face. He referred to himself as "
El Jefe," the boss, in Spanish. He was very arrogant, and trying
to impress people. No click pens in his room and all backpacks against
the back wall. He was very full of himself. I left his class quickly,
feeling relieved that I didn't have to do any more home learning. He was
a former lawyer and went out with my seventh grade English teacher. Journal # 6 - War War is very common in the world today. It is happening
probably right now as you read this. I think it is very stupid thing,
and should be gotten rid of immediately. It did help shape the great country
that we live in today, like the War of 1812, and the Civil War. If the
Civil War had not been fought, we might still have slaves. Journal # 7 - Describe yourself I am different. Some say that I am very smart, even bordering on genius, so that's what they say. I wear skateboarder clothing, and skateboarding shoes, although I don't skateboard anymore. Instead, I finger board. And when I am not fingerboarding, I am drawing, or playing on my computer. I spend more time with my Mom and Dad than I do with my friends. This is the way I like things to be. I play three instruments, flute, piano and saxophone. I play Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1, 2 and 3 on my Playstation. I am in the high school Jazz Band, where I play the saxophone. I take at least 400 different medications for my different problems. I am of normal height (is there such a thing?) and I have sloppy handwriting. I am a pen fanatic. I listen to rap, rock, classical, oldies. I like to build things. Journal # 8 - Describe your favorite piece of
clothing My most favorite piece of the clothing that I have to wear at school is my sweatshirt. It is warm and fuzzy inside, and I wear it every day, even to the point of me passing out from heat exhaustion. I like it because it protects me; it protects me from the outside world. If necessary, I can sink into it in class, and put on the hood to attain total cut-offness from the outside world. It exercises the clothing brand (skate board clothing) that I like. Journal # 9- What is something that you are bitter
(angry) about? I am really mad when I have too much homework to even watch five minutes of television. I am also mad when I have homework (every waking minute of my juvenile life) and I can't play on my computer. I don't appreciate stunting my genius activity into the ground with homework. Journal # 11- Respond to the "Read Your Bible" sign I have no Bible to read, so this sign has no meaning for me. I don't think that the Bible should be taught in public school, because what if there was some foreign exchange student from Zanzibar, and she believed in the Zanzibarian god. You'd be singling out her and her differences. You'd have to teach the holy book of every single religion on the face of the planet. Journal # 12 Freewrite The tattered flag lay lifeless, motionless, dying, dead on the floor of the lobby. The only remains of them was the scratching record turning in place, the patriotic melody played itself over, and they played it. They played it to remind them that somewhere the flies still flew toward the wind whenever the scent of death arose into the air. The death of the few who still fought in the lands, far away lands, lands far away from them, and "The Relving"The hotel built in the summer of 1946, the year that Arthur Relving created the living proof that living did not at all become true to just plants and animals. The year of the story taking place here starts at the turn of the century, 2000 A.D., and never ends, because the last living, living… Living is defined in terms of life and death, but Dr. Relving proved otherwise. His creation, a fortified masterpiece of exquisite planning and detail, that brought forth a new state of mind for the hotel that had, in its self, a mind of its own. Journal # 13 Compare and contrast Mathew Brady and Henry Drummond Mathew Brady believes solely in the Bible, and he is
very ignorant about it. All his life he was taught that what the Bible
said was true, and now he is just speaking what he believes to be the
truth. But he is rewarded for his beliefs, he is convicted for them, by
Henry Drummond. Mathew Brady ran for President three times, and didn't
win any of those times. The town respects him as they would a celebrity,
and he returns the favor. Mathew Brady is the prosecuting lawyer in the
case, and Henry Drummond is the defending lawyer. Journal # 14 Free Write I have a favorite pastime in my life right now, and that is fingerboarding. I know you don't like it, but I do, and every day I learn new tricks. I started out with the basic ollie, and then I learned the rest from my friend Matt at this daycare we work at. We make the boards sticky with marker or something and then apply pressure to one side, lift up quickly and it flips it in either direction. Depending on which end of your board goes up first, it is called a different group of tricks. When the back of the board goes up first, and you are boarding the normal way, then any trick that you do that way will have the prefix "nollie" attached to it, usually in front. So a flip (kick flip) would be in the nollie position, a nollie flip. On the fingerboard it doesn't really matter, and it doesn't make it much harder, but in real skateboarding it is a completely different trick. Journal # 15 Have you ever done something of
which your parents would not approve? Yes, unfortunately, in my previous years at MBMS I stole
the following items:CD player, mini tape recorder, thousands of pens,
$50 dollars, tape, a book, a laser pointer, Journal # 17 Revenge I have planned to seek out my revenge a number of times
in the past. I will not say on who exactly. I don't think, now that I'm
on different medication, that I would want to seek out my sweet, sweet
revenge on anybody, unless they deeply hurt me emotionally or physically,
or anybody who is close to me. I would probably most likely not kill them,
just let them know that it was me who did the revenge, and then mortally
humiliate them in front of their friends and family and loved ones, so
that they all turn around and never look back. That is revenge in my book.
(The Book of Brian) Journal # 18 Trust I would say that I have my complete and total trust entrusted in the hands of my parents and relatives. The only people that I would willingly trust with my life would be my biological parents. This is because so far in my life, all that I can remember was their caring love and respect for me, and they only seem to be interested in me and always are. Although this may be a scam, I know for a fact that the biggest escapes and murders are planned very carefully to get close to a person and really get their "trust" so you can make the final move on them, or when your trying to pick up a hot date at the bar. Any way, I say yes for trust, it's trust or bust, trust is a must, don't let your trust collect any dust… Journal #19 How else could have the ending of the book been prevented? Well, if Romeo had been a little later to the cemetery,
or his servant had been later. Or if the servant had not come at all,
then he never would have known. If neither Romeo or Juliet had ever been
born. Well, I can go that far, it wouldn't have happened if the planet
earth had never formed. Journal # 20 What are the most important problems that teenagers face today? Drugs, sex, alcohol, gangs, peer pressure, bad grades,
abuse, having their fingerboards taken away during class, partying, death,
not thinking about your future, not planning past the day into tomorrow. Journal #21 Tell me a terrific lie about yourself My left hand was cut off in a dual with my father, because
he decided to become an archer for the music group "Seven Year Bad
Luck." I hated them, so I took out my light sword and with my comic
book powers surrounded them with me and my two friends, Frodo and Sam.
Then Mr. Drummond jumped in with his magical copy of The Catcher in the
Rye and deflected Sam and Frodo back to Mantua. Then I took out my fingerboard,
put on a helmet, a cape and became…. "Darth Fingerboard!"
(que music) My magical fingerboard, which turned the species of Drummond
to stone when they looked into its fury, turned Mr. Drummond right to
stone. But then my father (Darth Gius) took out his boot, which knocked
me down into in the pit of Mantua, and chopped off my left hand with his
laser sword. The End. Journal #21 Describe in detail a possession you have. Make it descriptive as hell. I had this fingerboard. Yes, I remember that ol' fingerboard I used to have. Hell, I probably still have it… in a way, it will never leave me. That fingerboard and I musta' traveled every which way together… I always kept it close to me, so I could use it at any time. I never let it out of my site, for fear that it would run off to some other careless, unloving, uncaring fingerboarder. Now in my old age, I have trouble remembering his face, and that sad puppy dog sound he used to make when he wasn't feelin' too hot. I always made sure to give him lots of love, and to always make sure he knew it, too. And his name was… Rosebud. Journal #22 Free Write As soon as the day began, it started so suddenly, I was
believing nobody. Not even my goddamn mother, who got me up at such an
early hour, that I can't even remember what I had for goddamn breakfast.
Which is really messed, because I have the same thing for breakfast every
morning. I really do. Every goddamn morning, the same old slop. Only it
isn't slop, it's real food. This is the kind of food that I could, on
a normal day, describe the taste and feeling of crunching it up with my
mouth. Not today. Maybe I could remember if I could think about it. But
that won't happen, not today at least. CHAPTER ONE Then he walked in, in the middle of my concentrated thought.
Him, he, he was the, the ONE. He always caught my attention, whenever
he entered in upon the room I was in. I hated his guts, I really, always
did. Ever since I was little. Little enough to remember. Remember stuff.
Easy stuff. Like who my best friend was, where I went to school, what
grade I was in, and what I had for breakfast. I'm not so lucky nowdays,
not at all. Journal #24 Alcohol I have never had alcohol, ever in my life. I know my family, not my immediate family, but not the people who live with me, have had problems with alcohol. Not my parents though, not them. I don't know anything about alcohol, except only stupid people drink it. This is because all that happens when you drink alcohol is you get drunk, and if you like the taste, you should find something that tastes appealing but doesn't get you drunk. It is stupid that that's all some people go out and do, go drink. Stupid. I do creative, mind-using things. Like typing up my journals! Getting drunk is a no-brainer. Journal #25 Free Write Fingerboarding is the most fun I will ever have. Every
time I land one of those fakie backide 360 flips I feel like a god. I
repel all other voices in my head and control my mind singlehandedly.
I make my mind accomplish the unaccomplishable by unlocking the mysteries
of the untamed fingerboard. I take the fingerboarding to a new level.
I will create the ultimate School of Modern Fingerboarding. There, young
fingerboarders will capture their dreams of life long fingerboardship,
and earn their degrees in Fingerboarding. There are several fingerboarding
degree categories: The History of Fingerboarding (fingerboarding through
the ages); the Art of Fingerboarding; Fingerboarding on a Religious Level;
The Phil Harmonic Fingerboard Orchestra; Fingerboardamation; Fingerboard
Inspired Creative Writing; Fingerboarding 101; P.F.E (Physical Finger
Education); and Mind Over Fingerboard, and many more… |
